I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and festive period filled with parties and flowing drinks, family and friends. With my little boy Spencer fast approaching 2 this Christmas day was a whirlwind of wrapping paper, too much sugar and toys that make lots of noise (insert nervous eye twitch here).
We held a Christmas party at our house in mid December, I opted for the easy option of catering with supermarket bought nibbles, for my own time saving but also because the quality, variety and cost these days are so reasonable. We had a real tree and I got to buy my new favourite thing, balloon letters!
We also held Christmas day at our house, which considering I had a terrible headache on Christmas Eve and did very little prep came together quite nicely on the day and I was, as always spoilt. A bottle of my favourite wine we enjoyed on honeymoon, a necklace from Minor Obsessions in New York, perfume, new running shoes and a book I discovered through Instagram (isn't everything nowadays).
Celebrate Everything is from Darcy Miller, the founding editor of Martha Stewart Weddings, and it is more inspirational and beautiful than I could have imagined. It is the perfect read to get me geared up for a new year and all the planning and celebration opportunities the year can throw at me.
Here's to an exciting year ahead (minus the fizz, trying to be good and shed some of that holiday weight).
